Hurricane HS "Red Hot" Show Choir

Bio: The Hurricane High School show choir, Red Hot began in 1994 under the direction of Kristin Ball. Comprised of thirty-six singer/dancers, eight musicians and two stage crew, "Red Hot " worked diligently toward recognition in the existing state and regional show choir community. Through growth, experience and determination, Hurricane "Red Hot" has shown that it can consistently compete and maintain high standards of excellence.

Under the direction of Kim Edwards, beginning in 1997, along with the choreography of Deana Boggs-McNeil, "
Red Hot " first won the title of "State Show Choir Champions" in March, 1999 at the state sponsored West Virginia Music Educators Association, (WVMEA) Show Choir Festival in Martinsburg, WV.

They captured the title two years consecutively in 2004 and 2005, when the WV annual festival was held in Hurricane, WV.

"I believe Red Hot deserves to be featured as your spotlight choir because they represent the heart and soul of Hurricane High School, as well as the show choir community. Red Hot won 6 grand championships in 2005 and is the reigning West Virginia State Show Choir Champs for the second consecutive year. The members of Red Hot Show Choir know the rewards of persevering and dedication, while maintaining a 3.65 overall GPA in their studies."
